Hello. I have a G5 tower using OSX 10.4.11. - I have been using a pair of Akai RPM3 USB speakers with no issues. I noticed that there was a slight difference in the stereo field yesterday. I unplugged and then re-plugged the USB cable and now have no sound at all coming out of the right speaker.

I've tried replacing the cable, rebooting etc. But nothing seems to work,

Any ideas would be most helpful.

    Hi Russ,

Check System Preferences>Sound>Output put for Balance.

Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there, some things will change it for their own use, then not set it back.

Just to be clear... you swapped speakers & still just have left channel Sound? In other words, both speakers do work one at a time on the left?

How do these 2 speakers connect together or to USB?

OK, I'd say with your latest reply it has to be the Right speaker & not the Mac then.
