em, did you ever get a solution to this? This is happening to me now in full screen mode of any application.

Yeah, I'd love to see a response too. If I'm using any app in full-screen, I can take my hands off the mouse and keyboard, and within seconds, the machine will revert to the desktop. This is incredibly frustrating. Glad to see others are having the same issues... and its not isolated to mavericks.

This just started for me today and I have no idea what's causing it. I almost always have a full-screen Chrome space running and it worked fine for me for as long as I've had this machine, but suddenly for no reason it wants to do this autoswitch thing. It is incredibly frustrating even if it is a simple swipe to get the screen to go back across it makes watching a video or reading a page nigh impossible. Is there a solution for this at all or even a workaround?

Same problem started for me today . . . in Full-screen Safari. But, it's not taking me to a clean desktop, it's taking me to my Finder window. Sooo irritating. I would love to find a solution!

This same problem began for me a day or two ago. Switches from active application back to desktop after a few seconds - without any touch of keyboard or trackpad. Bizarre. This problem came out of nowhere.
Also anxious for any solution.

Hey all - if you have Google Drive running, try killing that from the task bar and see if it changes anything. Source: http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/108333/osx-keeps-switching-to-the-first -space
