When I attempt to open an older archived DVD project, iDVD program crashes every time. I thought that all the required items were in an archived file. Since I don't know where to start troubleshooting, any suggestions?

    Try this basic troubleshooting fix :

    1 - delete the IDVD preference file, com.apple.iDVD.plist, that resides in your

         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.

    2 - delete IDVD'S cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your

         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iDVD folder.

    Click to view full size

    3 - launch IDVD and try again.

    Thanks for the suggestions. I deleted those items. This helped at first as iDVD doesn't crash anymore when starting up. However, when opening my old archived project the problem starts again. It crashes. I think the archive file was created before installing iLife '11. Also when I tried creating a new project, iDVD crashed after the prompt to save it. Guess I've more work to do.

    To update this problem. Finally resolved it, but had to delete the application and reinstall it from the disc, and then update to the most recent version from software update. Was not too hard but was after a lot of trial and error before coming to this point.
