I've read every thread on here related to this issue and there has not been a solution posted. No, it's not an issue with the battery and the ribbon cable or any other hardware voodoo.

This problem is a direct result of upgrading to Lion on this iteration of the MacBook and it's driving me crazy.

I can get the keyboard/trackpad to work if I remove the battery, unplug the machine, push the power button to drain the power and restart. The keyboard and trackpad will work for a period of time and then suddenly freeze. They are unresponsive (CapsLock light won't work) until I perform the same power-drain/reboot dance.

Has anyone with this issue found a software fix?
