I have a question about creating ePubs with Pages:

What I'm trying to do is the following: I want the cover of my book on the first page. On the second page I would like to talk about the content of the book.

My issue: In landscape mode everything works fine, but when holding the iPad in portrait mode, the text that should be on the second page starts already under the cover on the first page.

Has anyone a suggestion on how to resolve this? Thanks.

first, I dont think ipad Pages app does epub. You would want to finalize and work on the desktop version prior to even trying to export as a final document. (I dont know if Apples new iBooks authoring tool brings in pages docs or not.)

Second, How did you force the second page to break while in the original orientation?

If you want to force a page break, you place the cursor where you want it to appear and tap once more to get a floating menu, and click insert. Page break is the second option.

A new chapter is really only a new section inserting a section break. You don't have to name it Chapter. HAve you tried using Insert page break?
