18.104.22.168 is an Administratively-scoped (local) multicast addresses.
Check your Startup items.

This is not a startup issue. I cannot filter this multicast even using the fire mentioned either by IP address 22.214.171.124 or port 1900.

Found this. Maybe it is normal. Port 1900 is used for Windows Messenger Broadcast messages.
But I also found this when I searched the forum for Port 1900:
I see many Window/MS APPs use port 1900, like Outlook, IE and some UPnP, It's a well known Trojan port.

Yes I am aware of the trojan port. that is why I am trying to determine how to shut it down.
what I have done is reinstalled the OS and it does not appear to be on my MAc anymore. I am now looking to see if I can find a built in OS command or app that would identify ports that applications are using.
