How long has it been happening?, mine started similar issue this last week. Something to do with the "webkit", if you look at the activity monitor the webkit activity may be off the scale with activity. ???

I can';t believe after all these years of hearing people say how mac's are quality machines, work beautifully etc etc etc that I could be so unhappy with my iMac. keyboard sometimes becomes "not found", USB ports on back are loose and sometimes unusable, the wireless dropping issue two months ago, fixed with last update, and now this nonsense. My oh my, Love my Iphone and iPad but I wouldn't recommend a Mac computer to anybody. 4 months old and it's for sale.

Apple suggests using OpenDNS > Safari 5.0.1 or later: Slow or partial webpage loading, or webpage cannot be found
Very easy to setup.
Open System Preferences / Preferences then select the Network tab. Click the Advanced tab then click the DNS tab.
Enter these addresses exactly as you see them here.
Then click OK.
Use OpenDNS for better speed, more security, includes anti phishing filters, prevents browser redirects, and it's free.

Can try..... can't figure out why it started just a few days ago, no updates in last week......... In 4 months I have had more issues with this thing than all problems combined with 15 years of PC's. Does changing to open DNS create other issues?, seems fixing one thing creates another issue.
