And NO, it is not locked. Photos, books, webpages and email will rotate 90 degrees in either direction - meaning they'll go from portrait to landscape, but will not go all the way around 180 degrees. Homescreen will not rotate and none of the apps will rotate. What happened? I've tried turning it off and on several times, deleted all recently installed apps, reset all settings. I bought this phone 2 weeks ago...

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1

The home screen does not rotate, nor do any apps rotate 180 degrees.  It is working as it is designed.

Do you have an iPad?  Because it is entirely different from the iPhone.  A lot of people thing the iPhone and iPad should be the same, but they are not.

Thank you! Yes, I do have an iPad (both are new to me). But really, the iPhone wasn't rotating at all for a while and after turning it off and on, it began to rotate like I described. So, if you turn your phone 180 degrees, none of the apps will turn that way? Okay, thank you gwforeman!

No, the orientation for the iPhone for verticle view is with the Home button at the bottom.  I wish it were like the iPad, as I would love the home screen to work in a Landscape mode.  Maybe in a future release of iOS
