Problems with options in WiFi

I have two iPads 2 with the iOS 5.1. The first iPad is a 16GB and the second is a 32GB. On the 16GB iPad 2 I have the option "not automatically connect". On the 32GB iPad2 I don't have this option. There is the option to "ignore this network".

 

Why is that different and how can I change the option on the 32GB iPad 2 to "not automatically connect" ?

    Did you already try to reset the network settings in Settings/General/Reset on the 32GB iPad?

    After that you'll have to fill in the passwords for all Wi-Fi connections again, but your autoconnect option should be back again.

    Did you try to set it up as new device, without using the latest backup afterwards?

    You can also try to erase the firmware file before you start, to make iTunes download a new copy.

     

    Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw)

     

    iTunes uses "ipsw" files to restore your iPod or iPhone. If those files are unusable, then try deleting them, renaming them, or moving the file to a different directory. This will cause iTunes to download a new copy of the IPSW. When a restore issue is specific to a user, it is likely due to an unusable .ipsw file. If removing the .ipsw file does not resolve a user-specific restore issue, then the issue is caused by other user-specific security software settings or iTunes preferences. Creating a new user will also cause new .ipsw restore files to be downloaded in the new user. You can find the ".ipsw" files in these locations:

    Mac OS X

    iPhone~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates
    iPad~/Library/iTunes/iPad Software Updates
    iPod touch~/Library/iTunes/iPod Software Updates
    Note: The tilde "~" represents your Home directory.

     

    Windows XP

    iPhoneC:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
    iPadC:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPad Software Updates
    iPod touchC:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates
    Note: If you don't see the Application Data folder, you may need to show hidden files.

     

    Windows 7 and Vista

    iPhoneC:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
    iPadC:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPad Software Updates
    iPod touchC:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates
    Note: If you don't see the AppData folder, you may need to show hidden files.

    If you only can restore to 4.3.5 by erasing the content, did you try the "set up as new device" to restore to iOS 5?

    Any restrictions set in Settings/General/Restrictions?
