Wireless security?? File security??
For wireless use WPA2 Personal and a decent non-dictionary passkey. Easy.
File security.. use user accounts.. but this is messy if you already have used the TC.
Lastly the TC is not secure at all if it is physically available.. anyone can press the reset and get access to everything.. you will need to physically secure the TC as well.
I have no idea what you just explained please explain it to me like i'm compuer ********, because i am. I have my time capsule hooked up to my cable modem. My mac, ipad and iphone are all networked and hooked up to the internet, but its not secure, i dont want other people accessing the internet through my router. you sound like you are savy, please help but dumb it way down, thanks
So you are talking about wireless security.. I am guessing this stuff is linked by wireless.
So using the Mac.. open airport utility and go to manual setup..
If you have Lion you will need to download 5.6 utility..
Go to airport tab.. wireless.
You will see wireless security.. select wpa2 personal.
Then type in a passkey.. it can be a combo of words.. as long as it is not a simple dictionary word.. add some caps .. add some numbers.. use your favourite film or book character.
eg.. babylon 5.. my favourite character Kosh!!
YouwilldieatZhadum (note no apostrophe.. correctly Zha'dum).
Don't make it too long.. don't have spaces and pure alphanumeric.. you have to type it into the iphone, ipad and computer.. once you set security. Everything should drop off the network that is connected by wireless until you put in the passkey.
