You would need to use separate Apple ID's on both devices. Then you could just FaceTime that alternate ID.

You do not need sererate Apple IDs, just different email calling address. On the Mac add another email calling address and delte the common Apple ID address.

I have an iMac (10.6.latest) and an iPad3
I just tried using a different e-mail account for the iMac's Facetime, then I get a log-in request from Apple (use AppleID, etc.), log in and get red error message:
"The registering device does not have the appropriate credentials"
What does that mean?
When I first started up FaceTime (first time on the iMac), I logged in just fine to Apple. Now this. Do I make a separate account? What does that get me, and what confusion will it cause in the programming/coding of the Appleverse?
