In Aperture's guide in order to print a book you need to follow the procedures below:
  1. In the Library inspector, select a book album.
  2. Choose File > Print Book (or press Command-P).
  3. In the Print dialog, choose Save as PDF from the PDF pop-up menu. The Save dialog appears.
  4. Enter a name for the PDF file and choose a location to save the file, then click Save.

Ok, I select a specific Book in the Library Inspector an than I press Command P or go to the menu and click on print. The problem is....nothing happens. What is going on?

Does your selection look like in the screenshot above? A brown-white book-icon highlighted? And if you go to the "File" menu in the main menu bar, do you see "Print Book", and not simply "Print"?

Then the "Print" dialogue panel should pop up, else something really is wrong.

It looks like the image below. The print window never pops up when I try to print the book.

Try the Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics, if you have not done so. It is obvious, that something is wrong. Since the Graphical User Interface does not react, start with removing the Aperture Preferences files from the User Library, see the Paragraph: "Delete the user preferences".

If that does not help, repair the permissions and repair the library with the "Aperture Library First Aid tools"; start with "Repair Permissions".

Post back, if that does not solve the problem.

A dumb question from me. You printer is on and working? Sometimes have to replug my printer to get it working. Just a thought.

Not so dumb, but my screenshot above was done far away from any printers. You can tell from the icon in the Printer selector that the default printer is offline. The Print-panel should show whether a printer is available or not - at least the print-to-pdf should be possible.

Yes your right about that. I miss read your post and thought that you were able to save as PDF. Just for testing do you have another library that you can put a fast book together and see if it works there? That way you will know if it has anything to doing with the image files them self or where they are located. Just a thought.

One other thought. I just had a problum with Adobe PDF Browser plugin messing my print from Safari. Have you added any plus or or updated anything sence the last time you printed? and can you print just a regular print not using the book?

Yes. I can print photos without any problem. The only update I made was for the new version of Aperture. I already downgraded it and still does not work.

Which Aperture version did you downgrade to? The recent updates versions contain bug fixes and raw support that you would not want to miss. If your problem has not been solved by the downgrade I would recommend to upgrade again to the most recent version.

Have you tried any of the trouble shooting measures I pointed to Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics?

I really think your problem might be caused by corrupted references or a corrupted Aperture Library, so trashing prefferences or repairing the library might help.
