So are you thinking upgrade whole machine, or current Mac?

    Will it depends.

If I were to buy a 512gb ssd it would cost from around 1/3 to half depending on which processor I get.

After much consideration I believe I need a dedicated graphics card. I also plan to gt a thunderbolt display so I will need the power to drive it.

What do you think is my best course of action

Go with the 15-inch model. That will give you plenty of graphics, and processing power. Hooking a 13-inch up to a TBD (ThunderBolt Display) works great! So no worries there. But just remember this, if you think you might regret sticking with the 13-incher in a year buy the 15-inch model.

Ok, maybe I will stick with the 13 for a few more months and wait for the 15" 2012 model.

    How does that sound?

By the way, it is not possible to upgrade the processor in the 13" right?

Sounds good, we are not supposed to speculate in the Communities about future products, but since you brought it up, that is a great idea! And no you are correct you cannot upgrade the processor in the 13-inch after you purchase it. The CPU is soldered to the logic board.
