My daughter dropped my Ipad3

My daughter was playing with my Ipad3 she dropped it because it got really hot, can I get A new one from Apple with no charge?

    No. Your warranty does not cover such damage. You can have it replaced by paying the replacement fee which will be less than buying a new one. Go to your local Apple retailer to take care of this.

    Standard answer is no. But looking around, there are some people with the same encounters and replacements are said to be granted as the peril was caused by a heating iPad, there wouldn't be a drop if the iPad didn't heat.


    Try contacting Apple Store after sales support if you got the iPad online, if not, go to the retailer. They'll have the final say.

    On face value, you would not be entitled to a replacement because the device was dropped and accidental damage is not covered under the warranty. On top of that, if the iPad was getting that hot, it's hard to imagine that you were not aware of the issue and you should have been especially careful with it and .... that most likely would have been covered by Apple under the terms of the warranty.


    Apple never had and still does not have an official policy whereby a one time replacement is given for free. Those stories have been around for some time and while there were a fair number of people that did get "one time replacements" that practice has been nipped in the bud.


    Now having said all of that, you can certainly try and see what kind of deal that you can work out. Depending on where you bought the device, they may take pity on you and do something above and beyond what you are actually owed in this situation.


    You will never know, unless you try, but just remember, you really are owned nothing under the circumstances.

    Apple's Limited Warranty for iPad excludes coverage for damage resulting from accident, disassembly, unauthorized service and unauthorized modifications.


    Apple will provide a replacement iPad for about 1/2 the cost of a new iPad. You can get the glass replaced at 3rd party repair sources for less $, however, the Apple warranty will be voided.

    My daugther dropped it too :-) but I fixed it using an hammer, as seen in this video:


    it worked for me...
