I have a similar issue in my car. Bluetooth pairs successfully between my iphone and car but no audio through the car's system. It worked perfectly prior to the IOS update ....anyone else having this issue or know of a fix....this is quite annoying!!!

The iOS5 upgrade has made a mess of the bluetooth connectivity. iPhone4 was paired perfectly to 2012 VW GTI and played all playlists fine. After upgrade, can see the song, see the timer counting down as if it is playing, but no sound. AND iPhone 4s paired paired with 2008 BMW handsfree telephone before the update, now I can't use the phone in the car. WHAT GIVES??? Anyone with ideas out there???

I finally got my iphone to to work when making phone calls in the car. I turned off and back on "Airplane Mode" ....power cycled it (not sure if that was needed) and all was good.

I am having the identical problem connecting my iphone 4 to my Kenwood Car stereo post-upgrade. It was find last night.
The phone indicates it is paired but there is no usability between the phone and stereo unit.

I just went through this with my wife's 4s and Toyota Prius. Apple help had me do a phone reset (hold home key and power switch untill an apple apprears and the let go). Works fine now.
