I have tried installing Parallels about 4 times this morning & I can't get to the point where I input the Product Activation Key. It keeps saying that the installation is sucessfull, but then nothing....

What am I doing wrong?

What are you expecting to happen?

Parallels, like Fusion or VirtualBox, is a virtualization software. Once installed and activated, it doesn't do much until you create a virtual machine and install some other operating system on it. So, if the installatiion went ok, you should be able to do a New and go about the process, provided you have the installation media for Windows or whatever you want to install.

I guess I'm waiting for a window to appear where I can input the Activation Key to activate the software. It's not letting me do this.  I have the Windows 7 software ready to install, but didn't want to install that until I'm certain that the Parallels is installed properly.

You need Parallels Desktop Version 7  in Lion. You need to activate it before the software will run and let you install a VM.

Did you use a trial version before?

If so, uninstall the trial version, then restart the mac and install the downloaded version 7 again.
