Hello,

I've been having a lot of sleep problems with my mac. It won't go to sleep properly when I close the lid.

I've run syslog |grep -i "Wake reason" in the terminal. and got this log.

May  4 20:59:33 Thijs-Nieuwkoops-MacBook-Pro kernel[0] <Debug>: Wake reason: EHC1

It goes on way longer but it is all the same. Now I know EHC1 means that some usb device is waking my mac right? But there is no USB device connected.

Does anyone know a fix for this? I've done all the basic things like disabling all the sharing stuff and "wake for network access".

Thanks if you are trying to help!

I don't have Bluetooth enabled, and just to be sure it already is unchecked

Drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:

syslog -k Sender kernel -k Message Req Wake

Post any lines of output that appear below what you entered.

    The lid sensor isn't working.

Well the weird thing is it works fine when nothing is plugged in. Like not the power supply and no network cable. Then it goes to sleep just fine.

Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested.

Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros (do this only if you know how to restore, and you have at least two independent backups.) Don’t erase the Lion recovery partition, if present.

I think i've solved it. I found out that for some reason "coreaudiod" was the problem ( found out with pmset -g assertionslog ). After booting the laptop in safemode(holding shift while turning on the power) and restarting the computer(was suggested on another forum) it seemed to be solved.

Finally my computer can get the rest it needs .
