Assuming you have Find My iPad installed and set up, your iPad could either be dead or not connected to wifi.

Do you have location services turned on on the iPad in the settings. Settings>Location Services>On>Find my iPad>On? .... And you have set this up already - correct?

How are you going about the process? Are you trying to do this on the iPad by launching the Find iPhone app?

OK. WiFi is on and the iPad is connected to a know working network. You have installed the find iPhone app and have set it up and you have Location Services turned on and Find My iPad turned on in the settings as well.

So you launch the app on the iPad and then you sign in - correct? After that - exactly what happens?

Don't be afraid to type a few words to describe what is going on. The more details that you provide the easier it might be to offer helpful suggestions.

Try resetting the iPad. This will not hurt anything, it is just like rebooting your computer.

Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

No problem but just so you know, if your iPad is working - it cannot be dead.

If you can connect to the internet with Safari, then you have a WiFi connection and WiFi is working fine.

So .. TGreg's solution not only does not make sense, this is not a solution at all.
