Beginning last week, internet continually dropping.  Then lost connectivity to Internet for all computers in the house -- Microsoft operating systems and my mac.  The computers couldn't even see the time maching.

Yesterday I upgraded to OSX Lion (latest version as of yesterday)

Updated firmware for Airport

Updated base (time capsule) firmware

Still having same problem and, as I said, none of the computers could see the time machine.

My husband reset it twice.

It seems to be holding for the momen, but then I also read that we all need to make sure that we have the most updated version of JAVA.

Is that right? B/c others are complaining that the JAVA update caused a problem for them.

Regarding Java, the problem wasn't with a Java update, but that Java had a security vulnerability that wasn't fixed until the second week of April.  If you've installed anything that Software Update offers you, your Macs should be safe.

Check back if you continue to have Internet connectivity problems.  The Network panel of System Preferences has an "Assist Me" button that can be used to run diagnostics.  Those can help you learn more about the problem.
