Editing a slide show in iPhoto, wanting to include movies, used QuickTime to trim the movies now some won't open. Error message:  "The movie could not be opened. The file is not a movie file"

One thread talked about headers being boogered up and suggested a utility demo that could fix the problem but it was from 2009 and dead links. This has happened before and I figured I did something wrong. Now I know "it ain't me" that's screwing up. What to do, what to do? TIA

How did you get this message? Where were you trying to play the QT movie? Were you in iPhoto when you trimmed the movie?

What version of iPhoto are you running?  Must be iPhoto 09 or earlier, right?

When you went to save the new, trimmed file  where did you save it?  What name and  format?

This was the window I got after trimming a movie in an iPhoto 09 library with QT Player 10.

Right (Control)-Click on the movie in iPhoto, select Show File in the contextual menu

and then try to play the movie file that is presented in a Finder window?
