Apple has increased security requirements for the App Store.  If you can not access the security options from your iPad, you can access them from your iTunes account.  You choose three questions and provide three answers.  I suggest you write your answers down somewhere safe for future reference.

Not to go OT, but I finally went through this myself today.

There is no 'correct' answer to the questions. it is what you want them to be. They're a security measure.

I myself have received an e-mail obstensibely from Apple (at an address they don't have so I know it's a fake), asking me to sign in and verify my account....an obvious phishing attempt.

Things like this may be why they started the security questions, active and obvious attacks on peoples' Apple accounts.

I wonder why it took this long for you to have to answer the questions?  It was painlessly simple for me.  I hope it was for you as well........

It was simple and painless for me as well. I simply do not understand all of the "wailing and gnashing of teeth" over this issue.

    I guess I'm just a special kind of guy - that's all!

The "ohmygod" mentality of the people whining and crying over something that is clearly intended to protect them, is beyond amazing.......

It would have been nice had it been explained that they were changing stuff. When you're taught to be skeptical of internet stuff to then have a known entity change something with no explanation, it's off putting.

That said, I think one thing that's confusing people....you don't have to be honest when you answer them. Make up answers. just make it something you will remember.

I won't disagree with you on this point.  Apple could have done a better job of informing people what the reason was for implementing the security questions were and even providing simple directions on how to do them.
