to input a couple of CDs into the library it seemed to work just fine. Today when I tried to open Itunes I got the following message "The file “iTunes Library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes. Would you like to download iTunes now?" (I was already using Itunes 10.6.1) and when I said OK it went through the software update search and reporten tha ther was no new software available for my computer

I then rebooted the computer to see if that would help--it did not!! I then went to the apple itunes support site and re-down loaded I tunes 10.6.1 and installed it no help there either. I have used Itunes daily since last november to sync my IPad and IPod and really need to get this back on the road!!!  Any suggestions the only thing thatI did different that I remember, was as I installed one of the CDs it said something about accessing "GraceNote" and I think I said OK.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
