hi there.

i've tried to upgrade my itunes on my Win 7 (Premium 64) to the latest version 10.6.

but every time upon the last minute of installation it is said that the old version of apple

software update can not be removed.

i have tried all the saying on the internet to clean up any apple software in my computer

but no way to make it.

some clues may be: the latest version i can install is itunes 10.22 yet it doesn't match

the new ipad. and there is Apple Application Support; Quicktime; Apple Mobile Device

Support; Bonjour, iTunes installed on my computer. BUT THERE IS NO Apple Software

Update AT ALL! it's just not there.

so i don't know how could i find the old version of Apple Software Update and wipe it out

of my computer..

i'll be so grateful if there's any possible solution to my wierd request.

but every time upon the last minute of installation it is said that the old version of apple

software update can not be removed.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" /___sbsstatic___/migration-images/183/18325543-1.gif thingy on the Major Geeks page):

    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.

Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) downloaded from the Apple Website:

    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Does it go through properly this time?

    Thanks for your advice.

I have tried several times this way but the problem is that there is actually no apple software update there,,,

When i deleted all other apple products and reinstall itunes then the error pop up again...

    Thanks anyway!

Launch CleanUp again. Have a look at the top of the list of programs.

Do you see any entries in there that:

    (a) Lack a program name but have an (All Users) followed by a version number in square brackets? If so, what is the version number?

    (b) Lack a program number and a version number, and just have (All Users)?

    (c) Lack everything ... it's just a blank line?
