Shift-Command-3 will put a whole-screen screenshot on your Desktop as Screen Shot xxx.png, where XXX is a date/timestamp. Shift-Command-4 puts up a crosshairs to select just a region of interest. There are a couple of other versions, allowing for example to put the screenshot on the clipboard, or just capture a menu, but I just use those two.

    Hi Austin,

Where does the snapshot go to on the computer?  I would think that it would be the next available Paste, but it's not showing up.  Does Paste work for you or is there another way?

    Thank you,

    Dylan

Ooops, I just figured it out, they're on the desktop.  Sorry, I would delete this question to you but I haven't found how to delete my post.  Not so tech savvy today :/
