Srg are we talking an enterprise wi-fi network, or a home network?  Details, please, details .........

My I Pad 1 has happily connected to wifi for the last year. Now it has suddenly failed to connect. The router is fine - the PC, printer and laptop all connect. Any ideas? NB I'm not into technology - I need a simpleton's guide.

.  I can't imagine wi-fi failing on the device, but you could test that by going to a public wi-fi area and being sure you can connect there...after that, since it doesn't sound like anything has changed in your network setup...I'd try a settings/general/reset/reset network settings( on the device), then try and set it up again....

Sorry for not giving enough details, but I am very new to computers. WFI connection on my home network is fine but unable to connect when out and about. It is an iPad 3

Are you able to "see" the various networks when you are away from home?  When you attempt to connect, does it ever connect, or perhaps connect for a time, then disconnect?

If you were able to connect to a network in the past but your iPad fails to connect currently, try going to the Settings >> Wifi.  Select the network you want to connect to (blue circle with the ">"), and at the very top, press "forget this network."

After you do this, re-select the network, and it should allow you to connect...

I'm not sure if this helps anyone - I had similar problems getting my iPad 2 online from my home wireless.

Every other device I have worked but the iPad 2

But I finally was able to get my iPad 2 wireless to work by logging into the router directly from Safari on the iPad.  In my case 10.0.0.1

Took a sec - but all of sudden I was online.

    Hope this helps someone.
