Q: install disk download from Apple

Hi ya

In need of a little bit of help my uncle has a macbook (black) and the hard drive went on it so yesterday so we had it changed and realised that he never had the original restore disk. so couldnt put lepord back on the machine to eventual upgrade to lion but how can i do this with out the original restore disk.

Is there a section on the apple site where i can download it or is there a way to use lion from scratch without having put the original software disk on there.

Please help.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Just purchase a Snow Leopard DVD from the Online Apple Store. You cannot download OS X. You can also order replacement discs here:

Apple Store Customer Service at 1-800-676-2775 or visit online Help for more information.

You can call Apple Customer Support 1-800-767-2775, provide the Serial Number and specifications of the Mac, and for a fee, a replacement set of system discs (if available), can be ordered.

However, the discs will be for the original version of OS, that was pre-installed, when the Mac was manufactured.
