i can receive a sms but cant send any

    What EXACTLY happens when you try to send SMS?

    @rachel - make sure you are typing on the correct text box before you send it? its a common mistake specially to people using iPhone for the fist time (not trying to be sarcastic as this has been indicated in the manual)

     

    @Karri - red exclamation mark indicates that it has not been sent due to network error/ no signal etc. can you receive txt messages?

    I can receive txt and calls and I can call out but it just won't let me send any SMS I have a signal on my phone and wifi is working?

    go to settings> Messages> tell me what are turned on and off

    iMessage is on but failed activation, send read receipts is off , send as SMS on, mms on,subject field off , charater count on

    are you trying to send txts to another iPhone user? if so you need your iMessage for that i believe, try to turn off then turn again iMessage that will prompt it to reactivate.

    Not sure if this may have anything I do with it I have just changed my normal sim card over to a micro sim card that was done today. I've only just got the phone today it was a second hand one from ebay

    I can't send a SMS to anyone iPhone or other phone even tried sending one to myself but even that didn't work
