My update is rocking. Sweet as a nut in the UK mate. All updates bring bugs to some people and not to others. Its been happening since the dawn of the iphone in 2007. Ive had all iphones and still have them. I have bugs on some and not on others. Just the way it goes im afraid.

No, I don't know anything about it - there aren't any. Do the update, as it improves reliability for Safari, pictures taken from the lock screen shortcut, etc. If you experence issues, restore your iPhone from a backup.

Updated yesterday and have not come across any issues.

(64 gig, AT&T iPhone 4S).  FWIW, I did update via iTunes

which installs the whole iOS 5.1.1 as opposed to the incremental

    update via OTA.

After the update I'm having an issue with my text messaging.  If I am in a conversation with someone and they text me while I'm still in the conversation my phone will not update the text message screen with our conversation until I hit the back botton (messages) and then click back into the conversation.  It makes it appear as if someone else has texted me.  Does that make sense?

Now I'm experiencing issues. When I update and install an app it freezes and hangs and takes forever to install or update. Not happy at all.

By the way.... do people from Apple read our forum updates for feedback?

    No. Feedback goes here: http://apple.com/feedback/

You can bet the ranch the APPLE has people monitoring and collecting info from these forums, but they are very strict about not commenting or participating in here.

There is a problem!!!! Wireless reception is much worse after the update iOS 5.1.1. See this thread too: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3937556?start=0&tstart=0

It is already generating a lot of angry people!!!! And I am one of them!!! Why can't Apple programmers have a decent product ... something always happening ... what is wrong with R&D department? Here is the solution, hire whole bunch of teenagers in high school or colleges, give them free phone, tell them play around with it, and tell us if anything is wrong with this phone! Call me crazy, but product needs to be up to the everyday use standard! and if it is not, no matter how great is your phone, you loose even loyal customers! And … I get that you are trying to be the innovative leader in mobile electronics department!

I have iPhone 4S and I like it, but if this is going to continue, I might switch to something else more reliable! P.S. I’m not an Apple product person, so it is very easy for me to switch over to something else.

Apple R&D folks, please have a fix soon!!!

I have exactly same issue. Since upgrading to IOS 5.1.1 on my two iPhone 4S the 3G is now appalling. In fact when using my Sure Signal at home they are now unuseable. Restored devices to factory, reset network settings and even replaced my SureSignal box and it makes no difference. ThreeUK on iPad is even worse. Apple have definitely broken something. As others have said switching 3G off and on helps the situation for about 10mins then they drop off the 3G network again. Have logged the call with Apple and they are unaware of the issue. So frsutrating that I can't downgrade back to 5.1 which worked fine.

After the recent iOS update, my phones (both 4S and 4) and , new iPad have started showing  SERIOUS Signal/reception issues. At my residence, I always used to have 'the Best' signal (with ALL 5 bars), until i did the 5.1.1 update. Since then, signals are going down to 1bar and at the max I have been getting 3bars and that too very rarely. I tried all the troubleshooting options: turn off/on cellular-data option, turn off/on airplane-mode, Wireless Network Reset, Restore from backup, Restore AS NEW Phone. (and each I have tried at least more than twice, and some of the simpler steps 10s of times). Every such troubleshooting method SEEMS to work for 5-10mins (sometimes unto 30 mins) and then BACK to 1-bar reception.  What's wrong with new iOS drop??

After series of observations to identify any pattern/consistency of buggy behavior which leads me to this hypothesis (based on long hours of observation including last weekend):

Multiple mobile (two iOS 5.1.1 products [iPhone/iPad]) antennas in a very close proxmity (as in the same house/room) that communicate to the same Carrier tower, somehow one's connection 'resets' the other's connection.  Though, I couldn't attach any technical data to support this, I could consistently make this happen! Moreover, any soft 'Network settings reset' of one of the phones, would eventually (in a matter of 5-10 mins) brings down the other and the one that got reset gets healthy 5-bar signal and STAYS for quite a longer (sometimes to an hour).  Any mobile networking expert would probably could give rationale behind what's the probability of such consistent behaviour !
