I am having a great deal of trouble with the iTunes Store (Music, Films, etc) on my iPad 3.

The iTunes Store App appears to be running really slow, with either nothing displaying at all, or only some items appearing after a long wait.

The issue affects all the tabs (Music, Films, TV, etc), in fact just changing tabs can take minutes, with little results shown if at all.

I can see a spinning 'in progress' icon in the status bar at the top of the iPad screen next to the WiFi icon, it just runs and runs.

I have quit the App, done a hard reboot on the iPad, it makes no difference at all.  It may have started after the 5.1.1 update but I can't confirm that as this is the first time I have been in the iTunes Store on the iPad for a few days.

There are no speed issues with the App Store or other internet based apps, they are all operating normally.

I am also on a 30mbps cable connection and I know it is not an internet speed issue.

Maybe there is an issue at the iTunes Store end, is anyone else seeing a problem?

You can trying changing your DNS on your router. I had mine set to Google's (8.8.8.8) for various reasons and it caused huge slowdowns for me. I have a 50gb connection and as soon as I reset my DNS and allowed my ISP to use their own, the problem disappeared.

I'm having the exact same issue. This is really annoying... I just bought a brand new iPad less than a week ago and I'm already starting to regret it. I' pretty sure it started after 5.1.1. Please fix this Apple.

Exact same thing for me. App store and iTunes match is fine but iTunes Store unbearably slow on a 50mbs connection in the UK.

Exactly the same - iTunes so slow as to be unusable. Again, new iPad, iOS 5.1.

I have the same problem on my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen 64 gig iPads! That can't be a coincidence, I reset network settings on the iPad, reset the airport extreme, renewed the ip on the cable modem, at one point I did a hard reset on the iPads, I made sure the program was closed completely and reopened it, all that but not nessasarly in that order,  and as others stated everything else works good, only the iTunes app is painfully slow. I'm running a 100 meg Internet connection and pretty much maxing out the iPad on upload and down load speeds as per speedtest.net app. And all this occurred for me soon after the 5.1.1 update release. The 1st gen 64 gig iPad I have has not had the update yet and iTunes has the same issue running 5.1!

Same situation, iPad2, it is extremely slow and clumsy, in fact it has crashed on me several times. I have noticed this several times over the last couple of weeks though....

Same here on the New IPad. Takes an age just to search for a band and get the results.

    App store is fine.

Same for me on iPad 2. Got all the way (slowly) to downloading the tracks, but all downloads fail with the error 'could not connect to the iTunes store'. Presumably it's a time out issue on iTunes side as all websites work well and I logged in with my Apple ID to write this message. Please fix this Apple!!

Add me to the list. iTunes loads and you can click features fine but try and view an albums track listing the page doesn't fully load and freezes the device. Only the in view tracks are listed. The rest if the page is greyed out. Scroll the page and the app freezes completely. Second run of the iTunes store bombs out. I'm in the uk with good Internet connection in everything else. Same Problem with both my iPhone 4 and ipad2. Got to be ios5.1.1 related in my opinion.

Definitely not 5.1.1 related as I had the exact same problem with 5.1. And my iPhone 4 exhibits the same issue with 5.1.

    Server problem IMO.

This is exactly the same for me, and has been for the last two days. I have an iPad 1 and iPhone 4 and they are both doing exactly the same thing.  Am somewhat relieved to see other people with the same problem.
