I have both the original iPad and the new iPad. Both have performed flawlessly.

I keep my screen clean and do not use any screen protectors.

Survey after survey for about 10years shows that Apple has been #1 in customer satisfaction by far, so your rant insinuating Apple does not want to do the right thing is way off base.
.
Work an Apple Store into your weekends schedule.
A Genius there will get your issue resolved.

Let me end my "ranting" by saying that I own three iPads. Two originals and one version 2. I have been a faithful and happy consumer of Apple products since 1988 and was one of the first customers to receive an iPad as I preordered it for the April release two years ago??? I own an iPhone, Macs, etc. I have written many papers for my Masters Marketing program on the innovation of Apple Inc. and their products. As a whole, Apple is one of the greatest companies with the vision(s) of the late Steve Jobs. I wept when he passed away. But with all the love I have for them, there has been a pattern of insufficient customer support over these years. They are no different than many of their counterparts in not just freely giving some solutions to raised issues. They make everybody jump through the same hoops, over and over. How my request of someone else who has had these similar issues to share the fix has turned into me being an Apple hater is beyond me! I love that for people who use Apple products are some of the most passionate people about their electronics. It is a testament to the products themselves. They are truly, hands down, the best. Try removing the screen protector and then clean the screen. Apple is going to do that anyway so you might as well try it yourself before you make the trip over to the store.

May 29, 2012 2:06 PM in response to susankoloby DVDKEV,I had this problem with my ipad. Typing on its own, changing page size, moving about in applications etc, I spent days working on a fix and have finally solved it.
I hope this benefits others;
1) Download latest itunes to a computer.
2) Connect ipad to the computer using white usb cable.
3) Transfer all purchases etc.
4) Disconnect from itunes.
5) go to settings on the ipad and choose the General option, scroll to bottom and select Reset.
6) choose erase all content and settings.
7) reconnect the ipad to the computer. wait for itunes to find the ipad.
8) on the ipad select set up as new ipad etc until it shows the icons.
9) on itunes select restore ipad.
10) leave itunes to download the latest software. it might take 30mins. dont touch it.
11) when the download is complete it will restore the ipad with latest software.
12) go to settings and switch off Bluetooth. turn off Multitasking gestures. select keyboard and turn off split keyboard. turn off the following too; auto correction, auto capitilisation,check spelling and shortcut.
that's it, ipad should now be problem free.

Aug 1, 2012 7:56 AM in response to susankoloby ArmstrongTempe,Same here. iPad (gen 1). Started off with a fetish to load notes then progressed to darn near anything. In safari keeps acting like have selected a sub-menu. The home/off trick will work for a while.
The only additional event is that the problem started after I upgraded my MacBook Pro to Mountain Lion; when I opened the note app it took forever to load then just would not go away, click home and notes would come back before I could select another app.

Aug 1, 2012 8:44 AM in response to ArmstrongTempeby susankolo,The only solution has been fro Apple to replace my IPad. I have a new one and have been rock-n-rolling since. Try the steps from DVDKEV. They helped ina short while. it will at least get you going until you cna get into an Apple store.
