Q: 10.7.4 update broke GH2 raw for me

Since applying the 10.7.4 update, the finder cannot preview my GH2 raw files anymore. And iPhoto doesn't allow me to add those to PhotoStream anymore (complaining about non-supported format).

Anybody else having the same problem?

Any idea how to fix that or revert to the old RAW library/framework version?

I got this fixed by reverting to the previous RAW update from Apple:

    cd /System/Library/CoreServices

    sudo rm -rf ./RawCamera.bundle

    sudo rm -rf ./CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Library/RawCameraTypes.bundle

Download and install the most recent RAW Update 3.12 (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1513)

And everything (Finder preview and iPhoto, PhotoStream) is working again like a charm with my Panasonic GH2 RAW files

Why not invest in a REAL photo/imaging program like Photoshop or PS Lightroom. Or even Aperture.

iPhoto is for the Snapshot takers, people using JPGs from camera/phones, not someone using RAW file format.

Several other photo editors rely on the system RAW support. This means also that RAW support in Pixelmator  is broken. Then, not everybody is using the newest machines and can afford buying new stuff, so my mid 2007 macbook with 2GB RAM is far too slow for Photoshop or Lightroom

I ran both PS CS2, 3 and 4 and Lightroom 1, 2 and 3 on a XP Pro PC with C2D 2.4 and 2GBs of RAM for years without problems.

Not sure why a Mac can't handle it.
