Q: after 10.7.4 update, i can't use bootcamp!!! how do i fix that?

so i updated my mac mini yesterday to 10.7.4.   After it was done, i tried to restart in windows.  well i got an error that the "bless tool" wasn't working properly.  so then the sytem wouldn't let out of there untill i chose to boot the Macintosh HD.  it booted to the lion installation screen.  i tried to reistall it but it told me the copy i had was corrupted.  so i wasn't able to get into mac os at all. everytime i reboot it, it took me to the same screen.  finally i gave up.  i inserted the original dvd to reinstall mac os 10.6.  i reinstalled it fine.  my windows partitio is still there but once again couldn't get to it.   now i was given a message to update the Boot ROM.  i click update and installed all the updates but nothing to do with boot rom so i'm still at the same place!!!!

i want to get bootcamp working again

Sounds like an issue for Lion Community for one, and worth try booting from Windows DVD and run auto repairs.

Did you ever erase your hard drive or update, when you installed Lion? There wre problems with upgrade to Lion 10.7.0 and Windows partitions on systems running 10.6.8.

There are also problems associated with changes in 10.7.4 which is why waiting a week for reports to surface.

When you update OS X just like Windows it needs to reboot into OS X to complete the update. I'm not sure what and why, or whether you are talking about trying to use Lion Recovery mode.

To me it sounds like a partition table, maybe 10.7.4 tried to update or modify something more than just the OS.

And of course make system restore images for both and any OS when it is working and before install updates. OS  X lets you make bootable clone and sparse disk image as well as TimeMachine. Windows will create a restore image of the system also.

    Boot Windows DVD can't hurt.
