May 12, 2012 11:39 PM in response to Apple kiwiby arjangt,thank you for the quick reply. unfortunately i've tried all the steps but the last, I am letting the device sit unplugged so as to drain the battery and will try again tomorrow evening. this is the last option I suppose

May 12, 2012 11:56 PM in response to Apple kiwiby arjangt,the first time I plugged it in again after this started I got "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because an unknown error occurred" and error message OxE...
I tried deleting the contents of /var/db/Lockdown and restarting my macbook and iTunes etc.
But I don't get an error message at all now...

then i plugged it into a windows machine and it said the USB device failed to be recognized and was malfunctioning (I also sync on that machine so it was working earleir...)
This all started when I was playing a song on the iPod through iTunes then I did command+delete to get rid of it but iTunes froze.
the link you sent just concluded by telling me to go to the forums for help

- If you live near an Apple Retail Store, make an appointment with a Genius.
