I have a G mail account and I recently found my computer saving my out going mail as I write it in Mac's own mail program. I was searching my mail for something when I came across this. It shows an outgoing mail message that I sent as ten or so messages with the same title and when I look at them they are each a portion of the message. For example, if I sent you a message that said " I will meet you at the bar " and the subject was " friday night " I see ten files in my Mac Mail program titled "friday night" and each one is a portion of what I wrote like, " I will m " the next one a minute later is "I will meet yo" the next minute one is like "I will meet you at t " etc, etc. Any ideas why this is happening? Is it some setting? I have no idea. Thanks for any help.

Wow, this is a new one on me!?

Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup),  it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.

Move this Folder to the Desktop...

    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/

Move this file to the Desktop...

    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index

Reboot. Click on Rebuild in Mail's Mailbox Menu after highlighting the gMail account.

Note, in 10.5 & up /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/ may or may not exist.
