Well I'm glad I'm not the only person with this issue, but it still exists and is making the iTunes Store unusable.

This is lost sales for Apple so you would think they would want to sort it ASAP.

I wonder if there is a common thing that could be the cause for us all?

I am in the UK, using Virgin Mobile as my ISP.

I have an iTunes Store preorder in place, which means I have to enter my password whenever I start the App.

    I use iTunes Match.

I may have mentioned earlier that I'm also on Virgin Media in the UK. Could there be some nasty traffic shaping going on from Virgin Media's side, breaking compatibility with iTunes?

I thougth the same thing about VM being the common cause.

I have asked the same question in the VM forums to see if other iPad users have the issue.

I should have said Virgin Media NOT Virgin Mobile!!!!!

I assume it's a problem with Apple rather than the supplier, I am with BT infinity and it still this morning is painfully slow. App store has no problems in speed of viewing or downloading.

I had sort of got to the same conclusion from the feedback I had from the Virgin Media forums, not an issue there for everyone.   Having said that, they do not see the problem like we do, so it is not affecting all users of the iTunes Store.

You would have thought if it was an Apple server problem that everyone would see it.

Maybe it is an iPad issues that we all have?  Or perhaps related to specific iTunes accounts?

It is as you say only affecting the iTunes Store, the App Store is fine.

The iTunes Store on my Mac (in iTunes) is also fine, so does not look account related.

Maybe our App is affected on the iPad, might take a Restore to sort out.

It's not any particular carrier or ISP. I'm in Australia on Telstra. The iTunes home page loads ok but any search etc freezes.

I'm going to take a guess that there's a problem with Akamai's caching of the iTMS content. I'm having trouble on a 20Mbps fibre connection on Optus Australia.

This started for me last night in the US. It has continued today. N

ITMS will not even play a sample, it is so slow.

    Very unacceptable..

I just realized that the cause of the problem might be a very large music library or some corrupted files that are synced to your device. If there is no music at all, the iTunes Store loads content in the blink of an eye. Very unsatisfactory. Apple must fix this asap|

I have had this problem for a week or so now - maybe a little more.  Glad to see I'm not the only one.  I am using iTunes Match.  Anyone else?

I do have a relatively large library as someone here pointed out.  I thought it was my iphone so I restored everything as a new phone to see if that would do me any good.  It did.  Until I turned iTunes Match back on.

Hopefully there's some commonality with our library size/itune match usage...

update: Turned off iTunes Match - iTunes store is working again - loading quickly and letting me download.  Even podcasts that have hundreds of episodes!  Kind of bittersweet.  I can now catch up on all I've been missing out on, but it's a pain.  This must be fixed.

I'm still experiencing this. This is very disappointing! I've tried the following:

    1. Restore iPad with a previous back-up, nothing solved

    2. Delete music from iPad and back the whole up without music, restored without music, synced music, nothing.

I think that something might've messed up our iPad and Mac libraries (I'm quitw sure the problem is with iTunes Match) and now the only thing to do is to start as a new iPad. I won't do that though, I'll wait for a fix, maybe in iOS 6.

Has anyone solved in the meantime?

I've had the same problem since last week on my 3rd gen iPad. App store is fine, but iTunes store is slow then freezes.

Not tried a restore yet, but might try turning off iTunes Match later. There has to be a proper fix coming surely.

I'm in the UK with Virgin Media as my ISP. my iPad is wifi only so not been able to try a different connection yet.

I live in Italy and I've been having this issue even before enabling iTunes Match, which was made available earlier this month. I disabled iTunes Match, thinking that the problem lie there, but it didn't. I'm desperate, I don't know what else to do. I've tried them all and I don't want to start fresh.
