My first question is what is the importance of the Keep iTunes Media folder Organized selection. And why does it organize by scattering songs from one album into several different folders that it created. For example I will add only 1 folder with 1 album containing 13 songs to the library but in the iTunes Media Folder it will reorganize my 1 neat folder into maybe 3 different folder with the 13 songs split in the different folders?

What is the advantage of allowing iTunes Media Folder to Organize rather than keep my album files in my own folder, drag them to iTunes library, and not use the iTunes media folder at all?

Is your album a compilation CD with songs by different artists? "Keep iTunes Media folder Organized" will arrange your songs by artist and album. If you want compilation CDs to be grouped into one single folder, set the "Part of a compilation" flag for the album (in the "Options" pane of the Information panel, if you select all songs of the album at once).

When you say part of a compilation you mean to this in iTunes not the folder right ? Also it may not be a compilation. Sometimes if the song has another featured artist it will create another sub folder and again all songs are not together in the media folder. Even after I go into iTunes select get info and make sure all the album songs have the same album name, artist ect and they appear as one album in iTunes library I go right back to see the album split into different sub folders in the iTunes media folder.

Yes, I meant in the iTunes  Information panel. After setting the "compilations" flag my compilation albums are grouped together.

If an album has guest artists, then I specify an "album artist", if I want the songs to appear in the folder of the main artist.

To the 2nd question, yes that is what I do. I give all of the songs the same album artist which is the main artist name but it still does not work. The album songs are still split... Not in the iTunes program but only in the iTunes media folder.

What is your iTunes version? My is 10.6.7, and all albums are grouped together on the disk.

Try if any of the options in tt2's guide to grouping albums may help:

    Grouping Tracks Into Albums

Okay I see now. You think I am saying that the albums are screwed up in my iTunes library. No, when I open iTunes program my albums are fine and organized. I'm talking about the iTunes media FOLDER, where the actual files are stored. When I go and open the folder the album songs are scattered into different folders.

No, I am also talking about the Media folders on the disk - but for me the folders on the disk reflect perfectly the albums structure. I tried several times again - just to make sure; if I uncheck the compilation flag, iTunes will move the songs to separate folders associated with the artists; checking the compilation flag will move them back into one single folder on the harddrive. The same goes for the album artist field for guest artists.

There must be something different in your setup; that is why I pointed you to tt2's article; maybe one of the other flags he describes cause your albums to be distributed on the disk.

Have you tried to toggle the "Keep iTunes Media Folder organized" flag on and off? This will force iTunes to rebuild the folder structure.
