I'm wondering if you've posted in the correct forum? Your eqipment says nothing about an iPhone. Your new iPad would require a 4G LTE SIM to get cellular connectivity on the Verizion network or a 3G GSM SIM to work on other networks. An iPhone 4S does not require a SIM to connect to the Verizon 3G network. It would require one to connect to a GSM network abroad.
