So I downloaded and installed the latest and greatest drivers.
Would those drivers perhaps be "Intel only"? If so, they will not work with an iBook which has a PowerPC processor, but will only work with newer Mac which have Intel processors.
You need to look for a driver that will work with a PowerPC processor AND Mac OS X 10.5.8. It may be hard to find one.

May 16, 2012 8:48 AM in response to Ronda Wilsonby Presty251,Thanks Rhonda, for getting back so fast. I believe I had that issue covered, it's a little difficult to decipher on
The driver download descriptions which are Macintosh for Intel only and which are regular Macintosh. I guess I should go back and double check the fine print...the original drivers were for Mac/
No Intel processor, but I don't want to think about how many years have passed since then.
As long as I have you online, is there a moderately priced wireless printer that you might recommend for use with a first generation iPad? Within the iPad handbook, there is a reference list of current manufacturers that offer compatible units...wondering if you might be able to get a little more specific.
Thanks again for your assistance today.

May 16, 2012 3:19 PM in response to Presty251by PAHU,Hello Paul,
Looking at the Epson web site, there is the 3.0 driver for Intel Mac's and the 2.5 driver. Without checking the 3.0 driver it should be in a Universal Binary file format, meaning it can be installed on Power PC and Intel Mac's. But if you wanted to be sure you could install the v2.5 driver on the iBook, although it seems odd that they state that 10.4.11 is the maximum OS supported.
With the problem you are now getting I would suggest you reset your printing system and trash the contents of the HD > Library > Printers > Epson folder. Then run the v2.5 driver installer again and add the printer.
With regards to iPad printing, have a look at this list of iOS supported printers. These printers allow you to print directly to them from the iPad via wireless.
