Android-based devices have updates regularly at roughly the same time intervals as iOS devices. If you know what you are doing, it shouldn't mess things up! You may find a full manual here.

There is a bookmark for the iPhone manual in Safari, on the phone.

If your mom likes hardcopy I can highly recommend a book I found at Sam's Club before I bought our iPhones, which has also been helpful Since. "My iPhone Fifth Edition" by Brad Miser (published by Que) 638pages.

Thanks you guys.
Since I made this post I have been dealing with getting a continual influx of apple forum notices in my email. About 1000 every 10 minutes or something. It does not to appear to be the phone thing I saw posted, but all the email are coming fromthe iPhone--Discussions area. I looked at the preference settings, but I don't understand what most of them mean.
any suggestions on how to get these emails from coming? I know they will come if you click "Receive Email Notices," but I have not clicked this in any of the new post notice I am getting. Like I said, they are all coming from the iPhone area. I clicked t be taken to the discussion and I set to receive email notices, so I am lost.

Does the full manual link stay pretty constant or does it change with every update?
Does it have the info needed to solve the majority of questions/problems?

In the right-hand column here, under Actions, is a "Receive emails" link. When you're at the "top level" here e.g.
click that link, a couple times if necessary, until the i banner says "You have stopped receiving emails..."

I finally figured that out after looking a couple places. Very strange, but the forum is really messed up on my end. I went through that "Receive Email..." and I do not remember ever clicking that. Now I keep getting booted out saying I have been idle for too long which I have never been booted out before, It says my username is not good, you cannot use an email address. It is not an address and I have been using this Apple ID for years, very strange. Thanks Again.
When you create a Question to post, where do you click "Recieve email Notifications for the question you create? I have never had the problem but it seems to all of the sudden be an issue.
I did turn OFF all my preferences because I was so desperate for the emails to stop...which they finally have.
