Please let me know the best way to handle this issue.

     1.  I imported 100 photos that are very similar (daughter on swing)

     2.  I reviewed them, and moved the 5 photos I like to a folder.

     3. I want to delete the remaining 95 photos but I can't easily figure out which 5 I have already moved into a folder.  If I just "trash" the last import of course it deletes the 5 photos I selected as well.

So, what's the best way to do this.  I'm obviously not doing this in the correct sequence, and I would like to only review the 100 photos one time to make my selection and then I'll never have any use for the 95 others I want to permanently trash.  Thanks.

    Folders in iPhoto do not contain Photos, they only contain Albums or other folders. Events and Albums may contain photos.

    Assign a keyword to the five, then you can find the others with a Smart Album

    I may have my terminology wrong on folder v. album.  I haven't used a smart album yet.  So, would the correct sequence be to identify the photos and when identified tag them with a keyword, then go back and create the album and search for that keyword???  Thanks.

    Well I would search for the photos that don't have the keyword

    So

    File -> New Smart Album

    Event -> is -> The Name of the Event

    +

    Keyword -> is not -> the Keyword you chose.

    You can also use flagging

    Then to move the snaps from the album to the trash:

    control-command-delete
