Just checking because many people aren't yet completely plugged into the new way of working through the App Store.
Not at all sure what might be confusing Compressor since FCPX knows how to access all your codecs. And have not heard anything like this problem being reported. Do you have a legacy version of FCS on this computer?
Tell what you've tried so far… for example, repairing permissions?
If you haven't already done so, I'd download Digital Rebellion's repair app. It can do a variety of fixes like permissions and prefs and many people have found it has fixed their problems.

running Disk Utility and repairing persmissions seems to have worked, now if I cano only get Compressor to appear in the application menu and not limited to launchpad - will be a happy guy
