Q: Getting very green tint on importing GF 1 RAW files.

Using AP 3.2.3 on 10.7.4.

Getting very green tint on importing GF 1 RAW files. Also a message saying the files were processed usnig a previous Aperture RAW conversion. When I click on the reprocess button nothing happens for a few seconds then the WB corrects, but not every time. Sometimes I have to click on the WB picker for it to have an effect. This has only just started to happen as I've used the GF1 for 2-3 years with no problem. I see from other posts that the WB is a known issue but I alsohave the previous RAW message as well.

Any thoughts?

    Two things to try:

    1. Force the generation of new previews by holding down the option key while selecting "Update Preview"
    2. If this only happened after you upgraded to 10.7.4 and worked well before, then register your camera with the lauch services database - see this post by Alan Roseman:This solved my questionRe: Aperture 3 preview of raw file greenish, but read the follow up posts (the lsregister command) as well, on how it is supposed to work and how to correct the typos.

Thanks Leonie. I'll try when I'm back at my machine and see if it works.

    Hello Leonie

I ran the commands and rebooted the system. I've subsequently taken a few test shots and they imported correctly; which is great. However the original imported images are still with with a heavy green tint and using a previous RAW converter?

When I ran your command with grep it still does not show the RW2 files. I've tried calling them Panasonic RW2 raw image and then Lumix RW2 raw image but with no luck. Something must be working as the new import was fine.

Perhaps I just need to rework the previous imported images as the best option.

    Regards

Try to simply grep the string "raw" - this will give a long list of known raw formats.

    /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchSe rvices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -dump | grep "raw"

    I found something like:

    uti:           com.panasonic.rw2-raw-image

                        description:   Panasonic raw 2 image

Also try to install yesterday's new raw update: Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 3.13

It does not mention your camera, but maybe you then can force to reprocess your older raw images.

    Hi Leonie

Thank you very much for your help. I had to force-reprocess the images but that worked a treat. Also installed the update. All seems to be working well now.

    Many thanks indeed.
