    Hi

Trying Logic with a new (additional) User Account would help to identify any issues with your current User Account (ie Logic might work OK, pointing to the User a/c as the source of the problem), or show that there is some other issue with the installation as a whole.

    Takes 2 minutes to try.

    Hi

    Great

So now on to the Troubled USer a/c

    1) In the "Troubled" ac (with Logic NOT running), Go to <User>:Library:Preferences and move the following files to the Desktop (note if you are running Lion, the User Library is Hidden by default: in the Finder:Go menu hold down Option to get to the User Library):

    com.apple.logic.pro.plist

    com.apple.logic.pro.cs

you could also move any other com.apple.logic.pro prefs files that are in there

    Restart Logic & test

    2) If no good, go to <User>:Library:Audio:Plug-Ins:Components

Move anything in there to a temp folder on the Desktop & re-start Logic

3)If no good, try starting Logic without the audio driver (launch Logic and hold down Control. You will get a dialog box asking if you want to start without audio:Yes

Does Logic run (won't make any noises yet)?

    4) If YES, try enabling the built-in audio via Logic:Preferences:Audio

    A process of elimination ;-)

    BTW: are you running Lion?

If yes, it may be worth a visit to <User>:Library:Saved Application State and move any Logic folder to the Desktop

    Hi

Might be worth posting the crash log if you have one
