Itunes has been rejecting my password. This started happening out of the blue. I went into my account online to change passwords 3 times after I could not log in. I got into my account fine, I cannot get itunes to accept my passwords. Can you tell me what to do? Resetting does not seem to help.

Here is an update. The problem went away for  a couple of days. Then came back again. Now what happens is that error messages don't acknowledge I am signed in, however I check to see if I'm signed in and I am. Then I sometimes can place an order and sometimes I cannot. This is a problem that I have been seeing as widespread. Can you give us some feedback on this please?

I have basically the same problem.  Spent a lot of time on phone with Apple support...no luck.  Only workaround is to log into my Mac as another user...then iTunes works fine.

    Hi Mike,

Here is an update regarding this matter. Itunes store and it's representatives for the most part have been unhelpful and poorly trained. I was told many reason why this was happening to me (although I pointed out other people were having the same problem) including, I entered the information incorrectly.

I finally got through to a tech person who had me remove all my preferences (Go > Home > Library > Preferences) and this corrected the problem. There are two issues with this method however:

    1) You MUST put your old preferences folder on your desktop - don't delete it, in case you have to reload some preferences.

    2) You will have to re-enter all you passwords, authorizations etc from all your programs. This can be time consuming and troublesome therefore DEFINITELY save your old preferences folder on your desktop AND copy this file back into the new preferences (according to the tech) :

    com.apple.mail.plist

Unfortunately, we never identified which preference file caused this to happen in the first place. Itunes support was NO help in even getting this far.

Thank you so much, it worked!  I can actually log into iTunes again.  I really dislike iTunes.  I still have other problems...a recently purchased audiobook does not show up on the newly synced computer...also, audiobooks always go back to the beginning when I sync...so frustrating...  Thank you for your help!  You solved my problem in a few seconds...I spent a ton of time on the phone with Apple support with no luck...

Glad it's working. On the other problem, are you saying that the audiobook is not showing up in itunes? (I'm guessing on this next part so if anyone knows the correct answer, please state it.) It might be that because we got rid of the preferences, itunes does not see it. If this is the case, perhaps you can re-download it from itunes or type in the name of the audiobook in your hard drive search, see what folder it is in and drag it into itunes. Please keep in mind, this one is a guess, so anyone who knows exactly how to do this, please respond.

    Have a great day!
