Q: dead monitor?

Hi all,

I have a 20" Cinema Display, and I went to wake up my computer this morning, and the screen stayed black.  The power light is giving the 'short, long, short' blinking message.  According to the support documents, this means that the power adapter is the wrong one.  I've had this monitor for 5 years now with no issues, with the same power adapter.  Does this mean that either the monitor or power adapter are dead?

Thanks for any help.

No real way for you to know for sure.  It may be that the power adapter is failing and not producing enough power making the display think it is the wrong adapter.  If you could hunt down another one of these adapters you could check that for sure.  If it isn't the adapter then foget it.  Repairing the display is not cost effective.
