Could you post your diagnostics for us please?

In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:

    dvdcd diagnostics.png

    ... and click "Next".

When you get through to the final screen:

... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here.

It's a bit difficult to tell, but I think there may be a later Dell-supplied firmware available for you (KD11).

Head to the following page at Dell:

    http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/product_support/dd_se gmenter?c=us&l=en&s=gen

Click on the Drivers and Downloads Home thingy for Home users, and enter your Dell's Service tag.

As well as firmware updates for the CRX880A, check for any available updates for your BIOS, chipset drivers and video drivers.

If you're behind on anything, and you update, does that get you past the 4450s?
