I'm not sure if this is an ipad, icloud or iphoto question but here goes... When I email photos from iphoto on my macbook pro(lion 10.7.4) then read that email on my ipad(5.1.1) I see two different sets of photos! IDK how that's possible but it's happening. The photos I see on my mac, and also on any device besides the ipad are actually the corect photos but the ipad still shows that a different set of photos from a completely different album have been sent. I've tried this many times, double/tripple/quadruple checked that the emails were identical and I still get the same result. The really baffling thing is that this happens even when I email photos to my yahoo account then check the yahoo acount on my ipad; identical emails sent at exactly the same time with two differnt sets of photos inside!!!

The only thing I can think of is that the ipad is taking some kind of shortcut to display the e-maild photos ( grabbing them from my local network? pulling them of my icloud gallery? ) and botching the job somehow. The correct photos must be getting sent to the mail server but the ipad for some reason isn't getting them off the mail server??? Maybe I'm wrong but tell me how two devices can recieve the same e-mail with different data; shouldn't be possible...right?

First time I've heard of this one. Not sure if these suggestions will help but give them a try if you haven't already.

Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then restart the app and see if it works normally.

First thing to try is a reboot of your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Thanks Ralph! Reboot did the trick, didn't know about the reboot. Still curious as to how it was possible for my iPad to malfunction in such a dramatic and seemingly impossible fashion, but the important thing is that it works again.

Like any computer there are occasionally errors that pop up. Rebooting the computer often helps. Seems to be the same for the iPad. I have to do this with mine every once in a while but not often. I use my iPad every day and never turn it off. It only sleeps when I'm not using it. Seems lke once a month or so, maybe even less often that that, I end up doing a reboot. Perhaps some apps are not written well enough and they cause problems I just don't know.

I'm glad the reboot fixed your problem.
