You are supposed to reload the saved project file and associated media so that you have access to and can change the individual elements.
The exported master is one contigious file.
It can't be changed as easily and may well be in an unsuitable format for FCP to work with.

I did not want to hear that. The project took up a lot of space so I deleted it and all I have now is the mov. file.
I spelt a name wrong, the handwriting was bad, it's still my fault and the wed address. So, it does need to be changed.

Well you may have to be creative. What are the quicktime properties? Select the quicktime in the browser and hit command-9. Let us know the pixel dimensions and codec. You may need to convert the file before fixing it in fcp. You'll have to replace the background of the shot with the title.

what version of fcp are you using? FCP 6 and 7 both will prompt you when you edit a clip into the timeline to match the sequence settings to the clip settings. Isn't that happening?

I've got FCP7. Yes it does prompt me and that's the dit I do not understand.
I've got to take the missus out. Were going down the pub, I'll carry on in the morning. Thanks.

It's hdv... do you still have the tapes?
If you do this for a living, it really makes sense to make archives of all your elements for a project. Clients ALWAYS want changes.

Yes I do have the tapes. In fact I have all tapes of every video. I deleted the FCP files and would have had to start from the beginning. I was trying to put the changes onto the mov. file and then make another DVD and also put it on my web site www.newbrighton.tv and Youtube.
I have been having problems for a while, with the editing. I thought I knew what I was doing and then all of a sudden everything is going wrong.
I'm attempting to establish a local community web site here in New Brighton, about 14,000 residents. It is a seaside town with a great history, the Beatles played to their largest live audience, ever, on main land UK. Believe it or not it was about 4000 and it was in New Brighton.
Anyway I need to set my FCP 7 up to capture clips from my Sony HDR-HC9E HDV 1080i Mini DV Handy Cam and leave it at that. I want to sometimes make DVDs and sometimes Youtube and to my website. This is just not happening and I do not know why.
