First this is a pain in the *** from apple. In addition to that the questions Apple is asking are horrible and limited.  There's a few questions that are pretty standard and apple has ignored asking those.

    1. Various Middle names

    2. City born, raised, etc

    3. First Pet

    4.

Why such obscure questions which are non-standard?  Why not allow users to self-create questions since the one's apple provides are garbage.

Why doesn't this appear on my iTunes account?

Fix it apple! Offer at least a few typical questions.  Your user experience has been a hallmark of apple products, I hope this isn't a sign of the times under Cook.  It's this attention to detail in the UX that's been paramount in Apple's success. Don't overlook the details.

    Then you lose.

I agree questions should be simpler, they have things like FIRST CAR or FIRST KISS or FIRST PARTNER. People should be able to create theur own, as younger generation apple users may not have answers to half these questions. I think its a brilliant security idea, but simplicity is the key.

On the subject of the iOS 5.1.1 update, what are the extras for an iPod. And it says i have already downloaded it, when i didn't. Why? And i dont know how much of my bandwidth this has taken up. A bit confused

There is no iOS 5.1.1, were you referring to just 5.1? Go to Settings > General > About > Software Version, what version is listed there?

iOS 5.1 does not introduce much for the iPod, except that the camera shortcut on the lock screen is now always present - no need to double tap the home button to see it. If your iPod doesn't have a camera, that won't affect you. The other extras in 5.1 are mainy for the iPhone, i.e. Siri language support, AT&T network indicator...

well thats a bit weird then because my update says 5.1.1, i am 100% sure.

    this is what it says:

This update contains improvements and bug fixes, including:

    • Improves reliability of using HDR option for photos taken using the Lock Screen shortcut
    • Adresses bugs that could prevent the new iPad from switching between 2G and 3G networks
    • Fixes bugs that affected AirPlay video playback in some circumstances
    • Improved reliability for syncing Safari bookmarks and Reading list
    • Fixes an issue where 'Unable to Purchase' alert could be displayed after successful purchase.

For more information on the security content of this update, please visit this website:

Would it make a difference that I changed the date to a different day and month for little bit for a game, or that I am in a particular country? Please help!

My sincerest apologies. The iOS 5.1.1 update was just released a day or two ago, and I was not aware of it. It sounds like it's mainly bug fixes, but no new features for iPod. It's always a good idea to have the latest version, as it fixes a few bugs in previous versions.

These security questions, their use is now rampant and they are stupid beyond belief. How does this enhance security? It enhances insecurity.

Even my bank requires them. Hello? Any intelligent life our there? The only way to stay secure is to make up completely "password-like" answers to these questions... then you have so many answers... this forces them to be recorded somewhere, further jeopardizing security. I'm 47 and I don't remember "where I and my partner first took a trip...", thus I will forget whatever answer I give... for pete's sake... again, requiring me to have them written in some form.

Sorry, I do love Apple as a company, and they typically are pretty smart. I hope they don't go too far the other direction now that Steve is gone.

My kid answered the security questions, but has forgotten who she put in for answers.  Now I can't get any help on how to change these questions to something more reasonable than my favorite teacher and least favorite teacher.  How do I get help to change the questions to something more specific that we can address?

We are now locked out, because this ridiculous change allowed my 10 year old to decide which questions I was going to use on my master account??? Now we are locked out.  Help!  How do I get the questions cleared?  Is there a phone number for assistance?

How do you get help if you forgot answers to your security questions?  How do I get the security issue resolved with Apple?  Is there a number to call?  I have every piece of information on my account except the 2 questions that they let my daughter create from her Ipod?  There has to be a way to resolve security issues, right?

Do you have an alternative email? Go through the steps of iForgot and see if that helps. If not, email Apple immediatly. You might prefer to start a new topic of your own to gain answers and help.

Whats worse is that majority of these questions are completely irrelevant to younger users. Apple should really enable us to create our own questions. I have chosen my most simple Q & A and hope that I remember. I suggest maybe making up an answer like where you and your partner would LIKE to take a trip, or turn it into something similar but easily applies to you.

My solution was spending $45 at Fry's and switching to the Nokia Lumia 900.  Aps require no passwords every time, up without a password, etc.

I don't have to put up with Trolls like Philly_Phan - yeah!

    Bye all.
