I've been reading all of your posts over the past few days. I'm experiencing similar issues. I have iTunes Match enabled on both my iPad and iPhone. My library has over 25000 songs. Had never had any issues until I upgraded my iPad to 5.1.1. Since I did that my iTunes store is unusable on either the iphone or iPad. This is happening even though I didn't upgrade the phone to 5.1.1. In addition I added some new music to the cloud, but neither my iPhone or iPad is seeing the new music. I do see the new music on my apple tv so I know it's there. I have shut iTunes match off on both devices and the store doesn't improve. In fact even when I shut off iTunes match the songs in my library do not disappear from either device. I can't begin to tell you how frustrated I am. Especially considering I'm paying for iTunes match and it's not working as it should. I hope they resolve this soon. I'm afraid it's not affecting enough people for them to act on this sooner.

I reported the problem using this link:

    http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

as well as with an email through the "contact support" link on itunes support.

Perhaps everyone with this problem should report this so that Apple might consider addressing it.

It doesn't appear to be a user-end problem (although over the years, I've noticed that "it's the user's fault" is the default response of all tech companies)

As I have stated in earlier posts - Apple are aware of the issue and they are working on a solution at the moment.

I have been working with Apple over the last week to identify the issue, and have been in direct contact with iTunes team members.

Engineering have duplicated the problem and will provide an update via a release of iOS.

When you turn iTunes Match off you have to wait a little while before you see the music disappear from the music library.  Any music you have played via Music Match will stay on the device as it has been downloaded to the device and is not deleted when you turn it off.

Thanks Ian. So it's a not a server problem, huh? Hope they'll fix this before the release of iOS 6, which, incidentally, I think is impending.

As a point of interest, I have never used iTunes match and I have this same problem.

I don't understand Ian.  I am still on 5.1 So updating to 5.1.1 client end cannot have caused the problem. So how can a further update to the client end os correct this. It has to be a server end problem. Probably indexing, block splitting  or locking strategy.

It first occurred when the server end was updated for 5.1.1. Surely it is 'just' a case if examining what was changed then.

I'I'm in the US and have used numerous different connections and have had the same problem mostly since 5.1.1. iTunes store on ipad3 is basically useless now.

I reported this to express help line 7 days ago ....couldn't help

Was on the phone to Apple Care for 45 minutes spoke to one person who passed me on to another who didnt help and 3 days later still no phone back.

Very unusual not solving this issue.

I too am surprised. They are losing money because I can't preview or purchase. Amazon has been getting my businesses

I have used this link also to report the problem. It's really frustrating as I used to use iTunes store a fair bit through my iPad but it's just become unusable since the recent update.

Just want to add my voice to the chorus of discontent! I've been having problems ranging from similar to identical to what's been posted and, yes, iTunes Match seems to be the cause of the iTunes store bogging or freezing. Finally realizing that -- retina display and voice recognition aside -- my new iPad 3  is underperforming my old iPad 2 (too bad I sold it!), I came here. Since reading this thread, I tried turning Match off and, indeed, things improved hugely on the Store. But I've come to appreciate and use Match in order to have all my music accessible, so giving it up just to have iPad 3 do as well as ipad 2 used to at the itunes store doesn't thrill me.  Glad to discover that I'm in good company and that Apple is on the case. May they soon find a fix!

I just want to say again that I have never used match and I have this problem.
